The Tattoo Journal is a book designed for the pre tattooing phase, the phase before we begin our tattoo apprenticeship. The Tattoo Journal is perfect for those whom are looking to develop their tattooing fundamentals wherever they go. The Tattoo Journal allows the user to practice pulling lines which is an essential element when it comes to tattooing.
The Tattoo Journal is not designed to teach us how to tattoo directly. The Tattoo Journal is designed to allow you as the upcoming tattoo artist to be able to practice on the go, at any moments notice, for as long as you need, while developing essential skillsets that a successful tattoo artist requires.
The idea behind different opacities is to mimic fainter tattoo stencils. I feel it is great exercise the use of fainter lines. Practice trying to make it from point A to B using the various opacities to see how you do.
The idea is to not develop our tattooing skills from The Tattoo Journal. The idea for The Tattoo Journal is to help you as the up and coming tattoo artist problem solve your way to accomplish the cleanest lines you can create. We are beginning to foundate our fundamentals and establish muscle memory, so at this stage in our tattooing journey paper and a pen or pencil will be just fine.
